It would be torturous for me, so congrats to you for staying on as long you did! I can't wait to hear how your outdoor run goes! :-)Mrs. Mightonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05848621051066769318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-75857860116692092202008-04-22T14:46:00.000-05:002008-04-22T14:46:00.000-05:00Well, I will have to stick up for the lowly TM. I...Well, I will have to stick up for the lowly TM. I did 6 miles on it this morning and it was a great work out. I travel a lot in my job so it is really convenient to simply go downstairs and use the hotel TM. The trick is to mix up your TM routines...do tempo work, hills, speed work, stuff like that. This morning I did hills for the first half of my run and then speed intervals for the second. The time flew by and I loved it.

Mr. Treadmill, I am there for you--don't listen to the haters!Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06766798107494284706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-8374329823825637162008-04-22T13:23:00.000-05:002008-04-22T13:23:00.000-05:00Sorry the run didn't go so well, but they will get...Sorry the run didn't go so well, but they will get better, I promise.

But personally, the treadmill is the last place I want to do a run. Period. And is even worse for mileage over 3, in my opinion. When you run outside, there are still going to be runs that you hate and that don't go well, but you don't have the same comfortable option of just stopping. Plus, a run outside is infintely more interesting. What sucks though about living in FL, is that those long runs will have to be at either 5 am or 9 pm.Jesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01465800584212530717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-28714035350794660532008-04-22T12:44:00.000-05:002008-04-22T12:44:00.000-05:00Girl, I still give you props. During the summer months, the most I can stand on the treadmill is 2 miles.MissAllycathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08592169104612466313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-3180266734458889802008-04-22T12:39:00.000-05:002008-04-22T12:39:00.000-05:00Well hey, you at least made it past 4 miles and yo...Well hey, you at least made it past 4 miles and you got up to run despite not really wanting to...so pat yourself on the back for that!

When I hit a rut mid-run and can't take my mind off how much further to go, I try to just focus on a tenth of a mile (about 60 seconds) and that tends to help. But it always seems to happen on a treadmill...hmmm...Adriannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09514776444690637180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-74445980194851600512008-04-22T10:18:00.000-05:002008-04-22T10:18:00.000-05:00i honestly don't know how you can run more than 5 ...i honestly don't know how you can run more than 5 mi on the treadmill. personally, i lose my mind on those things, and it's WAAAAAY too easy to quit- had you been 2 mi from your house you would have kept at it!
I think you'll find once you get outside that it's easier to keep going. The mental challenge of having an off button in front of your face cannot be overestimated!juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16475626486014286511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-86291983899378529142008-04-22T09:56:00.000-05:002008-04-22T09:56:00.000-05:00Aww, you still did great. I hope you enjoy your outdoor runs - I LOVE them now and can't imagine going back to the confines of the TM!Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13077591997056318914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343265242865518594.post-66110399097913096932008-04-22T07:45:00.000-05:002008-04-22T07:45:00.000-05:00eeek, I always do that.
